survey to GATH feb 2012

Accommodation not sure as we go for day trip.
Started early in the morning from KL and head down straight towards Bukit Panorama and climbed up at 5am.
Park the car at the few rows of shop and walk up the alley behind the shop.
Than we visited gua charas which is in a oil palm estate after breakfast at the market. There's lots of Buddha idols and Indian God's idols.
After that we head down to Sg Pandan Waterfall on the way back. Ask the ppl around for directions.
Bare in mind a lot of steps to climb.

btw, before I forgot....make sure car petrol is full as in Sg. Lembing we only spotted on petrol station if you want to refer that as "petrol station".

On 21st May 2011, a 45-minute drive from Kuantan, we arrived Sungai Lembing, overnight in a very basic homestay accommodation. The next morning at 5:30am, armed with our camera and torchlight, we started our trek with approx 1,100 steps (4 times of Batu Cave), we reached the top of the Panorama Hill after 1 hour trekking.

View from the peak of Panorama Hill in Sungai Lembing,
the cottony clouds is like floating in the sky

The crowd meet the clouds - waiting for the sunrise to capture a memorable snap
Get away from the high rise buildings and noisy traffic,
have a good cardiovascular workout,
taste of fresh air and enjoy the heavenly view... like looking at a fine Chinese art

The golden color after the sunrise

Descending...... Some of the 1,100 steps

SUNGAI LEMBING AND SURROUND

We were told by the locals that flood in Sungai Lembing is very common during the rainy season
end of the year and the water level can reach to the first floor of the shoplots.
The old trees in town & the market

On our way back to the "resort" after our hike

Panorama Hill of Sungai Lembing

A view of the 260m high Panorama Hill from below,
on a normal weekend busload of tourist will line the stairs up the scenic hill
as early as 6am in search of a beautiful sunrise and misty clouds of Sungai Lembing.
The climb takes about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic(climbers)and we came from Kuantan at 530am just in time to catch the sunrise.
